The castle of the Templar Knights in Ponferrada. At the beginning of the 12th century, the Templar knights took possession of the hill-fortress, reinforced and extended it to use it as an palace and for protection of the pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela. Santa María de León Gothic Cathedral … the 737 stained glass windows are one the main tourist attractions of the cathedral.
